Taylor Made Science will offer three Pre-AP high school science courses for the 2012-13 school year, as well as a Forensic Science class for younger high school students:
All high school science courses are composed of two 17-week semesters. Classes are once a week for one hour and 45 minutes and there is a heavy emphasis on lab during this time. Students will use traditional "state adopted" textbooks, complete course-appropriate science laboratory experiments, and keep a science lab notebook throughout the course. Students who complete the class will have an official grade report and lab notebook documenting course work successfully completed.Students are expected to complete homework assignments during the week between classes.
Graduation requirements now include four years of high school science. A series of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and one additional science elective course is highly recommended.
The fee for a complete 34-week Pre-AP Biology, Pre-AP Physics, or Forensic Science course is $650. The fee for the Pre-AP Chemistry course is slightly higher at $700, due to the additional cost of chemicals and specialized supplies and lab equipment. Fees include all lab supplies. All course fees are paid in 10 equal payments, the first being the "registration/supply fee" and nine tuition payments paid at the first of each month, September-May.
